Luna is our first owned Rhodesian Ridgeback and even my first owned dog. She spent her first 8 weeks at Mireille and Roy’s, where she had the best start, socialization, and love a puppy should get. She was born on the 15th of February 2008 with 16 brothers and sisters. A huge litter! Unfortunately one boy didn’t make it, but there were still 16 healthy puppies left. With 7 females there was a lot of choice for a correct puppy, but we chose the smallest girl, with the most charisma! And that she left her ridge in her mums belly was no problem for us. We were already totally in love!
Luna was the smallest puppy in this litter, but that wasn’t bothering her at all. She knew exactly what she did and didn’t want to do and with the socialization and other happenings she was always standing in front with her little nose. So we weren’t very surprised that Luna was in 90% of the puppy pictures and it wasn’t very hard to recognize her among the other puppies either!
And actually, she hasn’t changed that much. She is still very photogenic, curious, and she is very clear in what she likes and doesn’t like.
Inside the house she is a couch potato who loves cuddling and kissing and getting all the attention! Every evening she is laying next to me on the couch and every minute I feel my lap getting heavier and heavier, because she wants to be as close as possible.
Luna is a real girly-girl. She thinks everything wet or muddy is disgusting, she has really arrogant looks, she loves playing the educational mum, but above all she’s the sweetest girl I could have wished for and I love her very much.
Her biggest hobbies are playing, running, playing, running and playing. So it was very clear that Luna would love to have a playmate. In 2010 Xavi came into our family and this was really what Luna had been waiting for. At the first day he entered our home Luna accepted him immediately, it was love at first sight and it still is.
Luna is a very special girl. She has taught me so much and we have been through a lot together. I enjoy every day with her and I hope many more days will follow!!
