Xavi came to live with us in April 2010. He spent his first 8 weeks in Hank, at Natascha’s place, where he was so well socialized, that he wasn’t impressed by anything when he came to Malden. In the litter Xavi was already a very curious, open, happy and adventurous puppy. He had no problems enjoying himself while the rest of the puppies were asleep and when Natascha used a barrier to keep the puppies inside the garden he just jumped over it. So we were prepared for no second of rest for the next…say…..12 months…….
But there was no need for that. Xavi was the easiest puppy ever! He learned very fast and from the first day on, Luna was his big idol. They completed each other perfectly. Luna taught Xavi her rules inside and outside the house and showed him how to behave with other dogs. And of course…Xavi taught Luna how to be naughty, how much fun mud is and that poo really is edible. We are still very happy Luna was more the teacher-type in stead of the student-type.
Smallpox vaccine is also recommended for laboratory workers who may be exposed to the smallpox virus or closely related viruses check my blog.
Xavi grew out the be a very confident and not easily impressed boy. He was already stable at very young age. He is friendly to people, loves kids and is wonderful with other dogs of both sexes and all sizes and breeds. He loves to work, as long as he gets cookies. A real Ridgeback! We did several obedience courses with Xavi, are going to lure coursing events from the RRCN and his biggests hobbies are biking and swimming. He's a very active boy who loves to go out, but when it rains he's our lazy couch-potatoe.
We are also attending shows once in a while. Xavi makes a party of everything with his positive energy, so also in the showring a wagging tail en kisses for the judge are present. So far he did a great job in the showring too. You can find his results on the Show-page.
Xavi is a great addition to our family and the biggest friend for life! With his humor and wagging tail 24 hours a day (yes, also in his sleep his tail goes on), it’s hard not to love him.
Because of these great characteristics and his laid-back an easygoing temperament, we decided that Xavi is available as a stud dog for suitable bitches. Xavi's matings and litters can be followed under 'Mating' and 'Offspring'. From Xavi's first litter with Enyaa in England, we kept a little boy; Focus. Xavi and Focus have been true friends from the first day on and this friendship only got stronger when we lost Luna in 2013 and Focus really helped his dad through this difficult time.
Long story short.....
......we're crazy about our sweet boy and hope we can enjoy many more years with him!
